Dogs are usually our staunchest allies. They comfort us; they keep us connected; they ground us in our routines, and that’s quite a lot to expect from just one companion, yet they do this without being asked. And when our world is shadowed by ailments, loneliness, grief, or frustration, the love and solace we get from our dogs—unconditionally and undoubtedly—make our lives better.

The healing power of living alongside dogs is something that never loses its touch or goes out of style. They provide us with cuddles, brighten our days, and bring a sense of stability into a time when everything is difficult. Even though it may not feel like it at the time, the world still goes on around you when things go wrong. Some things still need tending to, and a pet can be a caring reminder of our routines and responsibilities.
