Even though Queen Elizabeth and President Joe Biden have yet to meet, for several years now the queen’s grandson, Prince Harry, has had a relationship with the Biden’s and has spent time with the couple on multiple occasions. 

Hello! reported that Prince Harry first met First Lady Jill Biden in 2013 when he was touring the U.S. and she was still the Second Lady, married to then-Vice President Joe Biden during the Obama administration. 

Jill Biden reached out to Harry to invite him to a reception for the U.S. Wounded Warriors, a non-profit organization with a mission to improve the lives of “Veterans and service members who incurred a physical or mental injury, illness, or wound while serving in the military on or after September 11, 2001,” according to the Wounded Warrior Project. 

That reception sparked not only a running friendship, but also inspired Prince Harry to create the Invictus Games, an organization that uses “the power of sport to inspire recovery, support rehabilitation and generate a wider understanding and respect for wounded, injured and sick Servicemen and women.”

Since then, the Bidens have been in regular attendance at the annual Invictus Day events as a guest of Prince Harry, per Hello!

Other mutual friends of Queen Elizabeth and Joe Biden include former President Barack Obama and his wife Michelle, who shared a warm relationship with the queen and other members of the royal family during the Obama administration, as reported by People.
