Hottest Fitness Trends of 2019

2020 is approaching in giant steps, and this seems like the right time to examine all the hot trends that governed the fitness world in 2019. The fitness world is always evolving, new products are released to the market, and we’re always on the lookout for new, exciting ways to get in shape. Some of these trends are momentary, while others are here to stay, and we predict we’re going to see a lot more of them in the years to come, so you better get familiar with them now.

1. Mindfulness

This is something you either love or hate – mindfulness is just something you can’t be ambivalent about. If you believe that fitness comes from within, and you believe in connecting body and soul, then mindfulness is the practice for you. For those not yet familiar with it, mindfulness is a form of meditation (yoga, if you will), of connecting your soul and body by purposefully paying attention and focusing on the moment.

2. HIIT

High Intensity Interval Training isn’t really new, it’s ben around for some time now, but this year it has gained new momentum. One of the reason why HIIT workouts are such a hit is perhaps because they don’t require too much time – they are short workouts, usually of 30 minutes or less, that you can do anytime and anywhere. People are getting more and more busy, and so they’re looking for ways to make workouts shorter and shorter.

3. Group training

You can see that many of the hottest fitness trends involve group training in one form of another. Group training became fashionable for several reasons: first, they offer you an experience similar to personal training, with a professional trainer, but for a more affordable price. Also, in a group training people can motivate each other, and nothing beats seating in front of strangers. Group training appeared in the industry in 2017 and seems like they’re here to stay.

4. Body weight training

Why use weights when you can use your body weight? Much like HIIT, body weight workouts are affordable and accessible – you can do them anytime and anywhere, without even having to pay a gym membership – you simply use your own muscles to create more muscle. That being said, it’s important to consult a professional trainer and learn how to do it right.

5. At-home workouts

Okay, you get the trend – people like to get in shape without having to leave the comfort of their home, and with today’s technology and social media, it’s more than possible, it’s quite easy. You can find endless guides on the different social media sites, such as Facebook, Instagram and YouTube. Anyone can find the right guide for him, because the options are endless.

6. Scooters

Yes, you heard right – scooters are another fitness trend of the recent year. You’ve probably seen them take over the streets, and now they’ve turned into a form of workout. You don’t need to be a fitness expert to use them; all you need for this workout is to know how to ride a scooter. Apparently, scootering is a form of cardio exercise, a lot like running or cycling.

7. Yoga

We mentioned mindfulness, but this list wouldn’t be complete without yoga. Though yoga is as old as times, it never gets old. Yoga keeps reinventing itself, and people are coming up with different types of yoga, and different ways to practice it. The most popular are outdoors yoga, which you can seen in parks pretty much everywhere, and yoga retreats – because why not make a weekend out of it?
