Going Gluten-Free

Being Alone

Spending too much time alone can increase your risk of type 2 diabetes. For whatever reason, you see researchers can’t quite understand this, but women between the age of 40-75 who don’t participate in social activities or have high engagement with others tend to have a higher risk of developing diabetes than women who participate in more social activities.

Removing Coffee

For some reason, again another thing that researchers can’t quite understand, those that removed one cup of coffee per day over a four-year term were 17 percent more likely to develop type 2 diabetes. While no one can provide a reason for this, it just goes to show that coffee each morning is a perfectly healthy option for those who don’t want to increase their risk of developing type 2 diabetes.

Using Mouthwash

Another weird product that can cause type 2 diabetes is mouthwash. It’s weird but true and while more research needs to be done in order to understand the relationship, it’s been seen that people who rinse with mouthwash twice a day have a 55 percent increased risk of type 2 diabetes.

 Excess Salt

Yes, it’s true! That extra salt you put on your food and the sodium found in unhealthy foods can increase your risk of developing type 2 diabetes. Sodium often increases your weight and blood pressure, which are two huge factors in developing type 2 diabetes.

Taking Statins
